Project Title Deciphering rice microbiomes for the improvement of productivity and sustainability

Description This study aims to propose the way to manage crop plants using microbiome-based approaches. The objectives of this study are (1) to characterize bacterial and fungal strains isolated from rice seeds and roles of isolates under stress conditions using metagenomic approaches, (2) to investigate the effects of anaerobic bacteria residing in rhizosphere and volatile organic compounds produced by anaerobic bacteria on rice growth and productivity under greenhouse and field conditions, and (3) to unveil relationships between plants and microbiomes under stress conditions by pathogens.
